Let's Keep Making Our History
With President Jimmy Carter's proclamation in February 1988, the U.S. began to observe Women’s History Week inclusive of International Women’s Day (March 8).
Since 1988, every U.S. President has issued a Presidential Proclamation declaring March to be Women's History Month.
The National Women's History Project has declared themes for each Women's History Month since 1987. The theme for 2020 was “Valiant Women of the Vote.”
